Dear Paulinskill Lake Association Members,

Over the next few days you will be receiving a letter in the mail from North Jersey Property Management.  This letter is to advise you that as of January 1, 2016 Paulinskill Lake Association will employ NJPM to assist the PLA board with the Association’s billing.  After careful review your PLA Board has determined that this is the most cost and time effective manner moving forward.

NJPM will be responsible for billing of all PLA dues and homeowners fees.  NJPM will also be on hand to answer your questions by phone and when appropriate direct you to the board member who can best answer your question. Once you receive your letter if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to NJPM.

Your Paulinskill Lake Board of Trustees appreciates your continued confidence in us and hopes that your experience with NJPM is a positive one.

Best regards,
Jeff

PLA Seasonal Considerations

Your PLA Board of Trustees hopes that you have had a very happy Thanksgiving.  As we roll into winter we would like to remind every one of a few important items for the season.

With autumn bringing the last of the leaves down.  Please remember to not dispose of leaves in the lake.  If you have contract landscapers, please advise them to not do this as well.  Blowing leaves into the lake creates two long term problems for our community.  First, the additional organic matter can lead to algal blooms because of excess nutrients released into the lake during decomposition.  Also, the decomposing leaves lead to addition material being deposited on the bottom, thus accelerating silting and filling in of our already shallow lake.

Speaking of the lake, during the draw down the lake level can be variable, especially during precipitation events.  Please keep in mind that when the lake begins to freeze, the ice is likely to be more unstable than in “traditional” winters.  The Board of Trustees reminds you that entering the ice is a solely at your own risk.

Last, please remember to keep driveway and sidewalk snow out of the streets during snow removal.   The PLA has privately maintained roads and our contractor needs to take additional passes to remove the resulting snow and ice from this activity.  Please keep in mind, and potentially remind your friends and neighbors, that each pass they take results in increased snow removal fees for all of us.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and on behalf of the PLA Board of Trustees, I wish you a very happy and healthy holiday season.

Jeff
